Meet the Board
Paul Bailey - Group Chairman
Paul’s background had been working as a Regional Manager for a white goods manufacturer. In 1992 the de-regulation of the telecommunications industry was introduced and Paul seized the opportunity for success within a new arena. During the 90’s his telecoms career included working for a dealer, a reseller, an aggregator, a European carrier and a global carrier. He gained a background to assertive sales in difficult trading conditions and through training became an experienced Telecom Installation Engineer and Maintainer to add to his skill set.
In 2001 it was time to exercise and test his entrepreneurial skills by establishing his own company. Worldwide Connect Limited was therefore born. Initially the company was managed by Paul and his wife, Selena and just three members of staff. His business skills were recognised during 2010 when he was short listed for Entrepreneur of the Year.
Selena Bailey - Group Director
Working within the motor industry for Toyota and BMW for 12 years, Selena was the first recognised female Service Manager in the UK being awarded with ‘Service Excellence’ for the region. Her career path has always remained within client service and marketing.
During 2001 events measurably changed with the start up of Worldwide Connect Limited along with her Husband, Paul Bailey. Initially originating every back office procedure and process including the ‘Right First Time’ method, Selena continues to oversee and advise the company’s Senior Managers and Operational processes.
Her key strengths have been to establish and develop an energetic and fully committed Team having interviewed each and every person within the organisation personally. By empowering individuals to use common sense and key skills the Team is competently evolving the business towards the future.
Mark Duckmanton - Group Managing Director
Before joining Worldwide, Mark had worked in various sectors within the commercial sales arena since graduation. His career path within Worldwide has been varied, holding positions such as Account Manager, General Manager and Commercial Manager ultimately becoming Commercial Director prior to appointment as Group Managing Director in 2006. Highly motivated to succeed and be at the head of a winning team with the acumen to complete and close high level accomplishments. Mark’s strong Telecoms knowledge combined with motivational leadership skills ensures that the Group continues to achieve its objectives and offer services at the forefront of the industry, and clients exacting standards.
Lydia Hook - Group Financial Director
Lydia’s comprehensive skill set made her an easy choice to place her into the position of Finance Manager in 2006. As a highly driven, ambitious individual, she became CIMA qualified after many years of working within an Accounting arena. Within a short space of time it was evident Lydia had strong commercial knowledge and operational intelligence, consequently she accepted her invitation to join the Board in 2010. Currently Lydia heads the Accounts, Billing and Provisioning departments within the Group.
Wayne Bingham - Group Sales Director
With 13 years experience within the telecoms arena, Wayne’s foundation of basic foot and telephone canvassing allowed him to move swiftly from Account Manager to Sales Manager, putting him in prime position for Group Sales Director in 2004. Wayne joined Worldwide at its humble beginnings, assisting the founders Paul and Selena to make Worldwide the success it is today. His ability to adapt to all channels of selling enables him to demonstrate optimum leadership qualities to the Sales Team.
Meet the Senior Management Team
Steven Dobson - Billing & Provisioning Manager
Since graduating in 1999 in ‘Business Decision Analysis’, Steve has worked within the Communications Industry. Starting out in Management Accounts his seamless move into the Billing Department led him to Billing Manager. Coupling this with his technical knowledge he joined Worldwide in 2008. He now heads up a Team of 8 and is a core element to the success of Worldwide.
Laura Desborough - Head of Human Resources and Administration
With 7 years of Administration and Accounting experience, Laura joined the Team in 2004. Within her current position Laura heads up the Administration Team and deals with all aspects of Human Resources. With her exceptional time management skills she is also PA to the Board. In 2010, Laura proudly achieved 2nd place in the national finals for Administrative Professional of the Year.
Hayley Duckmanton - Head of Business Development
Straight out of education, Hayley’s introduction into full time employment started with Worldwide. Like so many of our successful managers, Hayley worked her way through the ranks. Commencing in the Client Relations Team she moved swiftly to head up this department, moving seamlessly into Sales, until she embarked upon a new role for Worldwide as Business Development Manager in 2008. Working closely with the Sales Team Hayley ensures the business evolves in this fast paced industry by managing the portfolio procurement for the Group to offer a superior product and service level over our competitors.
Lisa Foley - Finance Manager
Relocating to the area brought Lisa to Worldwide in 2008. Working as an Accounts Assistant, she progressed quickly to Finance Manager within 2 years. Lisa is fully AAT qualified with an ambition of gaining her CIMA in the very near future. Her fundamental roles are supporting the Group Financial Director and management of the Teams within the Accounts Department.
Fiona Forrester - Client Relations Manager
After a short time within our Lead Generation division, Fiona demonstrated the ability to provide support and reliability when speaking with potential clients. This skill moved her quickly into the Client Relations Department where she maintained and retained her own dedicated client base for 3 years.Since her promotion in 2011, Fiona now develops the Client Relations Team as Ambassador’s for the Group.
Carmen Pell - Auditor and Escalations Manager
Carmen’s new role commenced in January 2010 after serving nearly 5 years with Worldwide in the Client Relations Team. This was not only a new position for Carmen, but for the company also. Working closely with the Board, Carmen’s commercial awareness to maintain our ethos of ‘Right First Time’ has made remarkable improvements to our order tracking and monitoring process.
Sean Seymour - Technical Manager
Joining Worldwide Group in 2005 as a Field Engineer, Sean quickly progressed to Technical Manager. With 15 years of experience in telecoms industry, he is responsible for the Fault Desk Team and the Engineers based around the country.
